“Wethersfield Parish Council is deeply disappointed by the government announcement yesterday that it proposed to use the Wethersfield airbase to house up to 1700 asylum seekers.

In common with our MP, Essex County Council, Braintree District Council and surrounding Parish Councils, we believe this is not an appropriate place for this use,  and we will continue to support other local authorities in their  efforts to resist it.”
