We are writing to update you that Essex Highways has submitted a planning application to Essex County Council’s Planning team for a new replacement bridge at Finchingfield. This application includes the provision of a temporary pond crossing to support the community during our proposed bridge replacement works. The inclusion of the pond crossing follows previous engagement undertaken by the parish council which suggests that this is the preferred option by residents and businesses.
As soon as the Planning Service have processed and published the application, which is anticipated early 2023, it will be available for public comment in the normal way (by visiting: https://www.essex.gov.uk/view-comment-planning-applications). We will also provide a link to our
Finchingfield Bridge webpage which can be accessed at: https://www.essexhighways.org/finchingfield-bridge-b1053-finchingfield ,when the information is available to us.
Letters are being sent to residents and businesses in Finchingfield (example attached) to inform them of this update. We encourage all planning related responses to be sent directly to the ECC Planning team at the appropriate time. Other non-planning related enquiries relating to Finchingfield Bridge can continue to be sent directly to the project team (as explained in the letter), although a substantial amount of information is already available on our website.
Following completion of the application process, we will be able to firm up our plans and share working arrangements.
Please share this information with local councillors, residents and businesses, and be assured that Essex Highways is committed to providing the best long-term solution for the local community.
Kind regards
