On Monday evening, our clerk arranged a meeting of the parishes.
Representatives from 7 parish councils attended alongside the district councillor, county councillors and the local police officer.
The purpose of the meeting was to understand other parish council’s thoughts on the proposals for a mega prison on Wethersfield Air Base.
As a result of the meeting we will be forming a committee of the parishes to ensure that we can co-ordinate our responses and have a greater impact than any parish council alone.
Our clerk has a lot to do and limited time therefore if anyone has expertise they can lend such as planning advice, legal advice or fundraising experience please email the clerk at WAB@wethersfield-pc.gov.uk.
And lastly, a reminder that we have an extraordinary meeting this Thursday at 7pm to decide what Wethersfield Parish Council’s response will be to the consultation. You are welcome to come along and share your thoughts in the public participation session.
